Personal data protection principles

The following text provides information on the personal data we process, why we process it, for how long, and on your rights concerning the collection of personal data.

PERSONAL DATA ADMINISTRATOR

The Administrator of personal data is the Czech Technical University, Prague, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Thákurova 2077/7, 160 00 Prague 6 – Dejvice, ID: 68407700 (hereinafter referred to as the “Administrator”).

ADMINISTRATOR’S STATEMENT

We act in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons in connection with the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and on the repeal of Directive 95/46/EC (General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data), hereinafter referred to as the “Regulation”.

We declare that, as the Administrator of your personal data, we fulfil all the legal obligations set by the applicable legislation and, therefore, that:

  • we will process your personal data only on the basis of valid legal reasons, namely legitimate interests, the fulfilment of contractual terms, legal obligation or the granting of consent.
  • We fulfil our obligations according to Article 13 of the GDPR even before initiating the processing of personal data.
  • Should it be necessary, we will provide you with support in terms of the application and fulfilment of your rights under the Personal Data Protection Act and the GDPR,

we retain your personal data for the duration of the respective statute of limitations unless legislation stipulates a longer period for its retention or we have stated otherwise in specific cases.

Czech Technical University personal data protection

DATA COLLECTED BY THE ADMINISTRATOR

In order for the faculty website to function properly, the Administrator needs to collect certain personal data, usually the name, surname and email address of the user and cookies files.

REASONS FOR THE COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA BY THE ADMINISTRATOR

The Administrator collects your personal data primarily for the purpose of the organisation of a range of events, e.g. public tours, internships, certain lectures, conferences, competitions, etc. The form used for entering your personal data includes information on the purpose for which we will use this information.

OTHER USERS

As the Administrator, we cooperate with other entities, i.e. users that are allowed access to your personal data. Such users process your personal data for the purpose of generating statistics or for providing information for those interested in study courses and upcoming events.

YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

According to the Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

  • request information from us on what personal data we process,
  • request an explanation from us regarding the processing of personal data,
  • request access to the data from us and the option to update or correct the data,
  • request us to delete personal data – this will only be applied if the interests of the Administrators/users do not outweigh your privacy protection,
  • withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data.

  • In case of doubts regarding compliance with obligations related to the processing of your personal data, please contact us, the Office for Personal Data Protection or the relevant legal authorities.
